Robert Russell

Robert Russell is The Godfather of this album. It is his mystical vision that connected Racquel Roberts with Nick Mancini, and seeded what would become The Secret of Christmas.

Not only has he a talent for connecting talent, but Robert laid down his sensitive and groovy bass on 7 of the 12 tracks on this album. A well educated and accomplished musician, Robert Russell's contributions on the bass will be appreciated by everyone attuned to that low frequency vibe.

Robert Russell has recorded for an array of famous talents. He was a member of the Epic Records group "Free Life", produced by Philip Baily of EWF; provided the bass on every album produced by Skip Scarborough that was not a self contained group, including albums by Patti LaBelle, Phyllis Hyman, Freda Payne, Blue Magic, and Aretha Franklin. He has also recorded with Peaches and Herb with Freddie Perrin, with Herb Alpert, as well as providing bass for the films "Boiler Room", "Grid Lock'd", "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun", "Malibu Bikini Shop" and numerous other recordings for Nolan Shaheed as producer.
